Get to know Nathan who joined our team in May.

Where were you born/raised?
I was born and raised in Beaverton, OR, but currently living in Salem.

Why Commercial Real Estate?
Commercial Real Estate has always fascinated me. Whatever building I was in, I would always think about the numbers that went into making it come to be. Also, seeing all of the growth and development in Beaverton over the last twenty years made me realize that commercial real estate is vital to making a strong impact in a particular area, and it inspired me to play a small part in that.

Before Commercial Real Estate, what were you doing?
Before real estate I was working in the sports marketing industry. In college, I worked in marketing for Oregon State Athletics and touched on every aspect of the sports business. That led me to go to grad school on a full ride and eventually land a job at Nike WHQ. There, I used my marketing undergrad and newfound skills from my business analytics master program to help optimize the Nike retail workforce globally. After my contract was up, it made the most sense to transition to the commercial real estate industry.

What is the best advice you have ever received and from who?
Several people have told me to add value wherever possible. It makes a lot of sense in this business because going above and beyond helps put you ahead and enables you to grow as an individual. You are helping others tremendously and growing as a professional, a win-win situation.

What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I like to travel, spend time with friends, and try new things! Living in Oregon, my hobbies depend on the season, but no matter what, I try to get out there and stay active outside of work.
